Sorry to neglect you guys. After weeks of churning out copy, I know you probably think I’ve gone on the lam. Not true! I’ve got a new Ram Report on deck and spent the last few days blasting through 3,000 words on the impact of the Final Four on VCU Athletics. If you get the Ram Report, you’ll see that in the next couple of weeks. If you don’t, steal one from your friends.

Anywho, the news came down yesterday that both Joey Rodriguez and Shaka Smart had been invited to the White House for separate events. How about these guys, eh? Living like rock stars. Lopez Tonight? Pffft. Rodriguez has bigger fish to fry now. He’s rolling down Pennsylvania Ave. in Joe Biden’s Camaro. This on the heels of the news that Rodriguez is headed to play professionally in Puerto Rico soon.

Anyway, there are a few more stories that I’ve been watching closely, none more than this Jose and Ozzie Canseco business in Yuma, Ariz. The brothers announced yesterday that they will play and manage for the Yuma Scorpions of the independent North American League. No way this could go poorly, right? Anyway, Matt Boyer, a reporter in Yuma, was at yesterday’s press conference and offered some live tweets from the “event”.

Speaking of Arizona, Arizona State is apparently ditching longtime cartoon mascot “Sparky” in favor of some Nike disaster. Note to Nike, less Oregon, more Sparky. I’m not kidding when I say that Sparky is my absolute favorite logo in college athletics. What I did not know, however, is that it was also drawn as a subversive shot at Walt Disney.

And just because, here are the best hairdos in sports history, according to Sports Illustrated.
